POLK DISTRICT MAGNET SCHOOLS
Polk District provides transportation to your zoned magnet and choice programs.
|
Polk District Magnet School Program was established in 1992 as a result of the court desegregation order and as a part of the District's voluntary desegregation plan. Our district operates magnet schools in all areas of the district. Students can apply for enrollment each November to magnet schools in their designated magnet zone. Residence within the designated magnet zone and timely application submission are the ONLY prerequisites for admission. Enrollment is by lottery. All Polk Magnet schools are choice schools. By enrolling your child in one of the Magnet Schools parents agree to certain rules and curricular directions. This includes mandatory school uniforms. Polk district provides limited exceptional student education programs in Magnet schools. If your child has an IEP, please contact the school to discuss availability of supports at that school site and options for your student. Magnet school's have specific magnet curricular themes, that were selected to attract a diverse student body.
